She began her profession in Cuba with a number one role in the intimate drama Una rosa de Francia (2006). In the age of eighteen, she moved to Madrid, Spain, and starred in the favored drama El Internado for six seasons from 2007 to 2010.

Soon after relocating to Los Angeles, de Armas had English-Talking roles while in the psychological thriller Knock Knock (2015) along with the comedy-crime film War Puppies (2016). She rose to prominence together with her job since the holographic AI projection Joi in the science fiction film Blade Runner 2049 (2017). For her general performance as nurse Marta Cabrera within the secret film Knives Out (2019), she was nominated for the Golden World Award for Ideal Actress. She subsequently portrayed the Bond Woman Paloma inside the James Bond movie No Time and energy to Die (2021) and Norma Jeane from the biopic Blonde (2022). For Blonde, de Armas grew to become the very first Cuban to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress.[1]
